Howdy Gang:
Another fun night at Brownies - lots of new faces and some returning for more excellent music. The crowd seemed just a bit bigger, and man were they having fun! The originals seem to continue to blow people away (something we've known for quite a while). It also seemed like there was several more "Splintered regulars" in attendance last night.
"Looking out into the crowd"
It's always a pleasure to see the abduction process taking place for the first time. This guy, dressed like he came from a business meeting, was sitting at the bar. I watched him as the spectacular version of Don't Let Go got him tapping his foot, and then he stood by his chair for Shootin' Tequila. By the time Crimson came rolling around, the guy just couldn't control himself and was up shakin' his booty with the rest of the crowd!
Lots of wows in the eyes of the newly abducted. Hey, these guys are really good!
Musically, it was an above average night. When One More Time rolled around, the band was hitting full stride, and the Lovelight to close the long, long first set had everyone cheering. Spectacular versions of Don't Let Go, Crimson, and Spinsong in the 2nd set. A fun night indeed. Me thinks the tapes did not turn out that great, but we shall see - still experimenting at this crazy place.
Until the next time...
