Howdy Gang:

Well.... last night was stranger than most. Gus got a new toy, some type of controller for his synth patches (only he could explain it best) - right now, it serves to increase the "tonal flexibility and dynamic capabilities of just about any sound" and in the future, combined with a laptop computer, will form the basis for a new Hammond B4 organ sound. Last night, it served as the basis for exploration. Taper Tim got a new toy as well - yes, now we're burning discs on the fly, creating CDs as we go. And, it was Sean's real birthday (and he even contributed musically with his slide pennywhistle). Also, there was a happy birthday (in abstentia) for Will Dennis! And finally, Rick McGillis made it to two shows in a row - is he becoming the tour rat?

A good night musically, but probably not quite the killer show. Definitely some moments when the band was on all cylinders chasing the "it factor," and other times when "it" was being quite elusive. All in all, we came, we abducted more SawMill fans, and we even sold some CDs!!! A good way to prepare for the new arrival (any day now).

Next weekend some of us are off to what promises to be yet another stellar HillyBilly Graham production in Elkins, WV. See ya at a show real soon
