Lemon-Coconut Bars

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons grated fresh lemon peel
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup flour
Dash of salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
2/3 cup shredded coconut meat
Powdered sugar for sprinkling on top

Mix together butter, flour, powdered sugar; and lemon zest. Press into a 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Mix remaining ingredients and pour over baked crust. Bake 25 minutes longer. Cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and cut into bars.
