Crushed Pecan Cake

1 stick butter
2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 3/4 cups sugar
3 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/4 cups crushed pecans
7/8 cup evaporated milk

Cream butter, oil and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with evaporated milk. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed. Fold in crushed pecans. Bake at 325-350°F for 20-40 minutes. Frost with butter frosting.
