Turtle Cake
1 package German Chocolate cake mix
1 14-ounce bag caramels
1/2 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
Chocolate Frosting (recipe below)

Mix cake as directed on package. Pour half of batter into a greased and floured 13 by 9-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Melt caramels, milk, and butter together over low heat, stirring until thoroughly mixed. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans evenly over the baked cake. Pour caramel sauce over that. Top with the remaining cake batter and bake at 350 degrees for another 20 minutes. Frost with chocolate frosting.

Chocolate Frosting

1 stick butter
6 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 box powdered sugar

Melt butter, milk, and cocoa together over low heat in a heavy saucepan. Remove from heat and add sugar and vanilla extract. Beat until sugar is dissolved.
