This list is not exhaustive. Information may not be current. Always read a market's complete, current guidelines before submitting. (This list is intended as a quick-reference for folks who've researched the markets, not as a substitute for research.) Look at a copy of the publication if at all possible. Never assume e-mail submissions, previously published work, simultaneous submissions or multiple submissions are okay unless the guidelines specifically say so. Do use correct manuscript format. When submitting via e-mail, be sure to use the format specified in that market's guidelines.

Except in the cases of a flat fee or a percentage, payment rates are listed as cents/word. That means a market paying a penny a word pays 1/word, and a market paying a quarter-cent per word pays .25/word. Therefore, .25/word does not equal 25 cents per word.

I do not list markets that don't pay their contributors in cash. This means that many excellent markets do not appear on this list. Scavenger's Newsletter is deeply mourned.

How to Use This List: Use it any way you want! :) The way I like to use this list is to right click, select all, and save it to a word processing document. Then I delete the markets I know I'm not interested in, sort markets by whatever criteria I want, add my own notes in different colors, and add updates to markets I'm especially interested in. In other words, every author can make it their own.
