COMMUNION TODAY The greatest conceivable treasure on earth
would be the true God in a visible form. We believe that in the Lord's
Supper we receive the literal body and blood of the Son of God along
with the bread and wine. It's because we hold the sacrament so
precious that we ask our guests and visitors, who have not communed
with us before, to speak to the pastor first. Thank you!

CEF LOANS Looking for a great place to invest your money? The
CLC is currently soliciting loans to the CLC Church Extension Fund.
This is the fund that loans money to CLC congregations and schools to
begin building projects (it's the same fund from which our own church
was financed). Right now the CEF is helping to finance the new
Immanuel College academic center. Not only can you support the work
of our fellowship with your loan, but the CEF currently offers a return
of 4.5% APR, which is better than any passbook savings account, and
comparable to many certificates of deposit. Your note can be
redeemed at any time, without penalty. To make a loan to the CEF,
complete a "CEF Promissory Note Information Form" (the forms are
in our literature rack) and send it with your check to: CLC CEF Office,
Immanuel Lutheran College, 501 Grover Road, Eau Claire, WI
54701-7199. Your promissory note will be mailed to you.

HISTORY OF THE CLC Last week in Bible class we finished our
study of I Timothy. Later we will go on to II Timothy and the
remainder of the New Testament Epistles. For the next six or eight
weeks, however, we will present a study of Professor David Lau's new
book on the History of the CLC. Have you ever wanted to know more
about the history of Lutheranism in the U.S., and particularly how the
CLC got started? If so, join us for Bible class after church!

CHOIR We are considering starting a church choir. We have many
great voices in our congregation. Practices would be brief - after
church and before Bible class. Would this interest you? Let the pastor
know your wishes.
