Paul's Robotics Page

This is just a quick page thrown together so that I have a place to put pictures of stuff I mention on the AHRC mailserver or in other robotics groups.
BTW, flying robot gif was taken from: http://www.blackdiamondadvertisinginc.com/portfolio.html They are an advertising and media company.  Check them out if you need that sort of thing. :)

Adding Caps to a GM motor

You should have three 0.1 uF caps on a DC motor to help keep electrical noise down.  These two pictures show how to add them to a GM gear motor from Solorbotics.

Progress on CIRC Bot and Beginning Robotics for $50 a Month Articles

I have the first two articles written and I will be submitting them to SERVO in late February. (I know, I keep bumping the date - editing is harder than writing for me.)  There are several people beta testing the bot now to make sure that it can be built from my instructions.  Here is a picture of the CIRC Bot.

CIRC Bot

To Keep the cost below $50, the LCD pictured had to be removed from the basic bot.  It will be included in the next installment that also adds bump sensors, IR line following, and IR object avoidance.
