Welcome to the CyclePlanes Project
The CyclePlane project is dedicated to developing practicable, roadable aircraft. Although there have been many different and some successful roadable aircraft, none have ever achieved broad commercial success. It is the goal of the CyclePlane project to develop viable roadable, aviation solutions. The two vehicles shown below are proof-of-concept roadable designs for the X-Plane simulation program: the CyclePlane and the UrbaPlane. They are intended to form the basis for a roadable design and promote the acceptance of future personal-use aircraft transportation systems. The CyclePlane is a high-speed personal aircraft that is intended to be relatively simple to produce. The UrbaPlane uses a more aggressive aerodynamic design to allow STOL takeoff's and landings while offering a lower-entry price point. This site is currently dedicated to facilitating the development of virtual designs and simulation models to test in-silico while also demonstrating the operation and utility of roadable aircraft. These designs will later form the basis for prototypes and fielded vehicles. To facilitate collaboration, the current models are licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). Please download and fly the models on the Archive page. Please provide your Virtual Flight Test feedback via the email links or join the CyclePlane group from the link on the Discussions page. Additionally, CyclePlanes would welcome assistance in both core development areas and on other supporting issues:
