Underneath
the Burnside Bridge at Portland Saturday Market is where you will find me most
weekends from March through December. I also have a studio in my home in Lake Oswego.
As you can read in my b
rochure, I was born in San Francisco in
1936. I attended Lowell High School and the University of Oregon
(54-58). I served as an Officer and a Gentleman for two years at Ft.
Gordon , Georgia , running a children's camp for military dependents. ( This was
because I was trained as an Infantry Officer but had a good deal of difficulty
reading a map. Ike was not anxious to turn me loose leading men around Korea ) When I got out of the service I did 30 years with IBM in
Salem, Bend and Portland. In 1991 IBM sent me to Oregon School of Arts and
Crafts for a year and I opened at Portland Saturday Market. In 1999 I was
selected to go to Japan on an artists exchange and I appeared at the State Fair
the same year. At the beginning of this century I was invited to present at the Lake Oswego
Arts Festival. Since they asked me to return the following year I must have done
something properly.
My wife Judy and I like to travel. If you can furnish us a level spot
and a plug for our motor home we will appear nearly anywhere. We request a
minimum in advance orders for the equivalent of one large fired bust ($150) or
seven medium faces for each working day ( including 400 mile travel days from
Portland, Oregon).. For charities or benefits we will donate 50% of our gross after
minimum.
That means that if you and yours want to conduct a workshop in or near
Portland and earn dollars for your favorite interest ..you could contract for
two large busts ($300)and donate 50% of any additional revenue generated to your
project.
