Yellow Aircraft Cap 232 Project
Back in 2001 when I was just getting into R/C I bought the above plane. It has moved from one house to another without much activity other than decommissioning the engine and glueing the wings together.
I decided in September 08 that since electric power systems were becoming more advanced, I would electrify it.
The first piece was buying a sufficiently large (and strong) engine to power a 12lb plane. This is the Hacker A60 series:
and the fuse
With the (huge) ESC wired, along with the UBEC. This
thing is getting heavy.
Here is a shot of the two batteries that will power it.
That is 3 lbs worth of batteries!!!
And the 73" wing (takes up a lot of room in the
shop)
And here is the finished product...I hope to fly it this spring:

Specs: Hacker A60 Outrunner with 90amp ESC. Two 3700mah lipoly (6S) Rhino batteries turning a 20x10 prop.
