Lt. Commander Data With Half of a Face

From The Last Scene in First Contact

I saw several versions of Data from First Contact on the net that featured Data with the skin graft, but none with the skin removed. This is my version of Data from the very last scene in First Contact where you see him. I took one of the Target Data figures and sanded away part of his hair and some of his face, then I painted it to match Data. I used a screen capture from the last scene to go by. The hardest part was painting the face to look right. The overall coat of paint on the missing skin side was gray. Then I dry brushed a mixture of black and silver paint over the gray. I painted on some green and red lights to add to it. I cut most of Data's left eye off to make it flat, then I painted it black. It turned out ok. I am not the best at painting small details, but I am pleased with it. I was just recently looking through the April #54 1997 Lee's Action Figure News & Toy Review when I came across page 5 that had an article on new Star Trek figures. The article talked about new 6-inch Ultra Trek figures and one of them was called Ultra Trek Borgified Data. I guess Playmates thought about putting the half of a face Data out, but changed their minds. I don't know why it was called Borgified Data though? The uniform is also wrong. My version of the figure doesn't have as much detail as the 6-inch version, but I like it. To see the Borgified Data, click the link below.

A Mirror Universe Chakotay

From Patrick Cranford's Mind

My Mirror Chakotay

This figure is the finished version of Chakotay as what I think he might look like in a "Mirror Universe". Not necessarily the same Mirror Universe from Star Trek. The figure I used is the Chakotay in maquis outfit. The eye patch was made with "Milliput" and painted black. I made a scar by cutting a place on the right side of his face with an Exacto knife and then put a little dark skin color in it to give it that deep scar look. I painted the phaser in Chakotay's holster to make it look more realistic. I painted gloves on his hands and added a mustache and goatee as well. I painted his shirt grey and his vest black. To see the original version of Chakotay before he was finished, go further down this page.

James T. Kirk In Plain Clothes

This is my own creation of what Kirk might look like in plain clothes in the Next Generation time frame. The head is from an Admiral Kirk from Star Trek the Motion Picture. The body is from Neelix from Star Trek Voyager. I just stuck the Kirk head on the body and gave the body a new paint job. It wasn't very difficult.

Figures Inspired By The DS9 Episode "Trials and Tribulations"

Kirk with TribblesClassic DaxClassic SiskoClassic O'Brien

The Kirk is the regular Kirk in casual except with Tribbles. I used the Yeoman Rand figure to create Dax. I used "Milliput" to style her hair. A friend made the Tribbles for me out of some small craft "Pom Poms". The Captain Pike figure was used to make the O'Brien and Sisko figures. I had to sand down the collars and paint them black. On O'brien's badge, I painted an engineering symbol (that took me a long time to get right) and I painted his shirt red. I shaved off the hair on Sisko with a Dremel Sander, and I painted on his beard.

Figures Inspired From Different Idea's Or Episodes

Old BashirChain of Command DataAlternative Universe Chakotay

The first figure represents Dr. Bashir, as he was aged in one of the DS9 episodes. I used an Admiral McCoy head, and the top of the uniform was painted to match the color Bashir wears in the series. I never got the "Redemtion Data" figure when it came out, so I made my own. Even though Data didn't wear a red uniform in that episode. I call my figure Data from "Chain of Command". He did wear a red uniform in that episode. The last figure is of the old version of Chakotay, as what I thought he might look like in a "Mirror Universe". For a description of how I made the figure, go further up the page.

Commander Deanna Troi In Dress Uniform

From Star Trek The Next Generation

Troi In Dress Uniform

The Troi in Dress Uniform figure took me awhile to make. I got mad when Playmates made Picard, Riker, Data, and Geordi in dress uniform and then stopped. I wanted at least one of the women characters in Dress Uniform. So, I made one. Playmates did finally make the Dax in dress uniform after I had made the Troi in dress uniform. I just used a regular Troi figure with a whole lot of Milliput and paint. I spent hours on her collar to make it look right, but when I put her head on, she was looking down. I had to cut the back of her collar off because her hair was in the way. It made me sick to cut it off, but I had to do it to make the figure look right. The figure didn't come out good in the picture, so I had to edit it. The figure was real bright, so I used a program to dull some of the shininess. That's why the picture looks funny.

Q As Commander Data From The Episode "Hide and Q"

Q as Commander Data

I made the Q as Data (or as an android) figure from the head of a Q figure and the body of a Lt. Barclay figure I had laying around. I had to trim the neck down on the head to make it look right. The Q figure had a long neck. I painted the head and hands to match the color of Data as close as I could. It was a hard color to match. I repainted the lips on the Q head to match the color on Data's lips. After all the paint dried I glued the head on the Barclay body and the figure was finished.

Injured Captain Pike From The Episode "The Menagerie"

Injured Captain Pike

This figure is still in the process of being made. Well, the Pike torso is finished, I just have to make his chair that he was in. The Pike head was a Batman Forever Two Face head that I had lying around. I messed up the left side of his face in different ways. I melted it some, I cut it, and I scraped it. The right side was already messed up, all I had to do to it was paint it. I painted the face, the eyes and the hair. I painted the hair with a first coat of brown, then I added several coats of gray with each coat a shade lighter. I would put the paint on, then lightly touch it with a paper towel so some of the color underneath would show up. It's hard to tell in the picture, but it created a neat effect. The body was an old Crossover Sisko body I had left over. I sanded the front of it down with a dremmel tool and then I covered the body with Milliput. I also made a collar with Milliput and after it all dried, I painted it black. After the paint dried, I glued on the head and it was finished. Now I have to figure out how to make the chair. I have some ideas on how to make it, but I don't know if they will work until I try. When I get the chair finished I will put pike in it and take a picture to put on here.

Captain Sulu From Star Trek VI and Star Trek Voyager

Captain Sulu

I made this figure for a friend. It was an easy figure to make. I took the head off of a Sulu figure and put it on the body of a Kirk from Generations figure. Then I touched up the sides of Sulu's head with some grey paint to give him that aged look. I know I'm not the first to do this figure, but I thought I would show it anyway.
