Arabesque Jazz is the jazz division of this relativly large independent. Many fine contamporary artists are represented in its catalog.

Candid Records was started in the late fifties by Andy Williams, of all people, and made a name for itself presenting the cutting edge of jazz at the time; Mingus and Cecil Taylor, among others, made excellent recordings on this label. It is currently run out of England and keeps much of the original catalog avaiable, as well as releasing good new recordings.

Challenge Records, Dutch label specializing in jazz, also releases music on the A-Records, Buzz and Retrieval labels.

Chesky Records manufacturers of audiophile quality LPs, CDs and DVDs. Has a very good jazz catalog, but produces recordings of other genres as well.

Concord Records has a mostly jazz catalog and a distinguished history, including its on-going Maybeck Recital series of solo performances by great pianists.

Invisible Music, an independent label specializing in recordings of jazz musicians from Northern New England.

Jazzheads Records is a small label with an interesting catalog that includes Harvey Swartz and Boston resident Joe Mulholland.

Justin Time Records is a well established Canadian jazz label that also records various US artists.

Label M is the latest company started and operated by veteran jazz producer Joel Dorn.

Lovely Music features music by artists who often defy catagory. Those associated with the jazz world include Anthony Braxton, Leroy Jenkins and Roscoe Mitchell.

Koch Jazz is the jazz label of this large but still independent Koch Entertainment group. They have a very good jazz catalog.

Mad Kat Records is the label of veteran West Coast singers Madeline Eastman and Kitty Margolis.

Max Jazz Records is best known for their recordings of contemporary jazz singers and they have recently launched a jazz piano series as well.

Nagel-Heyer Records, "Swinging mainstream jazz with internationally known artists."

Okka Disk "the label that is pushing the envelope of Jazz and Improvised Music."

Palmetto Records specializes only in jazz. The catalog includes recordings by many well-known and well-established artists.

Thirsty Ear Records has a very eclectic catalog including Downtown NYC saxist/composer Tim Byrne, English guitarist Mark Almond and "ambiant music" pioneer Brian Eno.
