I did the window myself with window film.
Basically I am having Bathfitter (www.bathfitter.com)
come in and tear the old tub out, tear the old plumbing out, tear out the small
shelf at the end of the tub out, tear the walls down and tear the wood molding
out around the window (but keep the window). Then they are going to replace the
floor, put in a pad floor under the new shower base. Then they are going to
replace the walls. Then they are going to build a fake wall up from the floor to
the ceiling where the old faucet and shower pip were so that will all be
enclosed and covered. They they are going to trim the window out with white
marble and make sure all that is sealed up. Then they are going to put in the
white marble shower base and then the walls. (but the walls are all one piece
and bent and shaped here the house). Then they are going to put in the 2 shower
heads. 1 will be permanent and the other will be about 4 in. away and on a slide
bar going up and down with a shower hose on that head so you can move it around
the shower. That is all going to be Delta. Then they are going to extend the
shower walls all the way to the ceiling with white marble and then lay a white
marble ceiling over the shower. then they are going to install the 2 corner
shelves and a few grab bars and possibly a shower chair (maybe). Then they are
going to put up chrome shower doors and finish everything up all in 1 day.
Everything is covered for LIFE. If the door stop, or slip or the caulking turns
colors, or the system leaks, or if anything falls off they will replace for
LIFE. Also if we ever add anything they will come and install it for free
(just the price of the part). I am very happy that I went with them.
