This is a very small demo game which is based entirely on the events which are contained in Chapter 11 of the novel The Pandora Directive by Aaron Conners. The purpose of this demo is two-fold:
First, to demonstrate what a Tex Murphy interactive text adventure might look and feel like. Second, as an experiment to see how hard/easy it is to adapt pre-written text into interactive text.
Essentially, I'm trying to determine the feasibility of having one person (probably JTOG) write a new Tex Murphy fan-fic story for the purposes of converting that story into a new interactive fiction Tex Murphy game.
If you would like to leave any comments or questions about the demo, please email me at pdrallos@tir.com or post a message on the UnofficialTexMurphy.com message board.
For first time IF players, the game has a built-in help system which explains the basics for playing IF. Just type 'help' once the game starts. The help files are short and you will enjoy the game much more if you know what you're doing.

DOS/Windows version
This version has a built-in z-code interpreter and is ready to run, but it will only run on DOS or Windows. (Since Tex Murphy games were only available for the DOS/Win9x platforms, this is probably not a problem for you.) Note, however, that this is a zip file, and you will have to unzip it after you download it.
z5 version This version is platform independent. It will run on Windows, Unix, Mac,.. or just about any other platform you can think of. Even cell phones. But to run it, you will need z-code intepreter.
If you need an interpreter, follow this link and it will show you how to get one. Don't worry, they're free.
