Often refered to as adventure games or text adventures, Interactive Fiction (IF) is much like reading a book in which you are the main character in the story. Your actions, via input from the keyboard, move the story along and influence how events unfold.
In order to play these stories, you will need another small (and freely available) program called an interpreter. Interpreters and information about them are available here.
Colossal Cave The historic Colossal Cave Adventure by Will Crowthers and Don Woods. Play the game that started it all.
Pet Shop A small CYOA game written with Jon Ingold's Adventure Book software.
Trapped in School An introductory adventure.
Dawn of the Demon (release 0, SN 050619) The Text Adventure Prequel (TAP) for the graphic game Zork: The Hidden Evil.
Pandora Demo A small text adventure demo of Chapter 11 from The Pandora Directive by Aaron Conners - A Tex Murphy Adventure.
Adventure Book Jon Engold's Software for making Create Your Own Adventure-style computer stories. No programming skills necessary!
Kid's Kit A short collection of IF games appropriate for kids or beginners. The kit includes a Windows Frotz 2002 interpreter, Bear's Night Out, Trapped in School and Cloak of Darkness.
