Schedule and Classes
Please plan on arriving for check-in at Wright Hall between 4-5pm on Friday, April 2nd. Dinner is family-style and will be served promptly at 6pm in the dining room of Wright Hall.
Evening Activities:
Friday evening at 7:30 there will be a large group playing session, led by Phil Neuman, in the Great Room of Wright Hall. Bring recorders of all sizes (especially the large ones if you have them), viols and other strings, and soft double reed instruments.
Saturday night we will be honored to hear a concert featuring our esteemed faculty members, and Sunday night we'll all enjoy an English Country Dance, even if you're an absolute beginner! Saturday and Sunday we'll also have opportunities for singing madrigals and buzzy band/loud wind ensemble.
Classes:
After your registration form and payment are received, a class selection form will be emailed to you. Ensemble classes will include a range of music from the renaissance and baroque eras to contemporary works. You will be asked to make a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice for each class period, taking into consideration your playing level and instruments played. The faculty will do its best to use this information to create cohesive ensembles that will be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all.
On Saturday and Sunday, there will be four class periods a day, with a shortened class schedule on Monday.
The retreat concludes at 3pm on Monday.
