Due to Popular Demand! All Ages A&S Suggested Projects

(Lady Seadhli has received several queries along the lines of "What is a Good A&S project for my Child?")

Children (7 and under) - finger weaving, cook a period recipe with adult supervision, braids, paint an illumination letter (cool capital letter in a book), leather stamp, Spin wool using a Drop Spindle, make butter, make bracelets or necklaces, hand puppets

Youth (8-12) - kumihimo, handsew a simple garment, edge a veil, make a hat, create your own illumination or heraldry, simple leatherwork, build a bench or simple piece of furniture (with Adult supervision), build a catapult, research period "toilet paper" practices, beadwork, puppetry or mummery, Armor a stuffed animal or doll, make a belt!

Teens (13-17) and Adults (18+) - research something you are interested in and present it however you would like! 
Other ideas include: hand sew a garment, design your own heraldry following period rules or SCA rules, a work of illumination/calligraphy/a scroll, create a piece of armor - leather, chain mail, etc., build a piece of furniture, weave something!

Groups - A mosaic tile, a piece of furniture, a banner, create garb together, a diorama, whipcording, weave a tapestry, pottery, Armor a stuffed animal or doll (Or member of your group), in period or SCA armor (heavy, boffer, or rapier!)


A Note on Garb or other Wearable Entries: 

Article(s) of clothing entered into A&S Competition must be brought to the event. It may be worn that day, with photographic evidence arranged on Display, however "pictures only" entries will not qualify for judging and prizes.
