Mission
My mission is to help fellow authors, clients, students, and fellow business associates achieve their personal and professional goals. My company believes in producing the results that will assist you and your business in taking that next step towards self-actualization. As an author/educator/corporate trainer, I am available to come visit your business, school, library, retirement community to give a presentation. In addition, I will hold a book signing, and read my poetry to you and your audience.
Profile
I am a publisher, college professor, legal assistant, researcher, published author, published, and award winning poet/photographer. My poetry chapbook "Haiku For You" is an illustrated workbook for children to learn the art of Haiku. One of my clients said that "adults can use this chapbook and learn Haiku". My work as a photographer and as a photojournalist has appeared in local, and a national publication. As a writing coach, I assist clients with their writing endeavors. I work with my clients so that they can achieve goals that they set for themselves; whether that is to be a published author, or to be successful in all of their personal and business ventures.
As a publisher of chapbooks of Haiku, I am reaching a new audience of readers. At this time I have a compilation called "Feathers in Flight". I've included approximately 60 Haiku for you to savor. And, as a parent or a grandparent, I'd like to enourage you to purchase a copy of "Haiku for you", A Workbook for Children which has photographs in it as well as places to craft Haiku.
Information
I believe that education is the key to success, and the way an individual presents him or herself is key to achieving all goals. I can help you reach your goals, as a beauty advisor, personal coach, editor, or as a college professor.
Additionally, I love to research many topics, especially case law. For me research is a way of life. I have always enjoyed finding answers to questions. I don't mind spending time in the library, or where ever research material is available. As a business you may need research on a specific topic, such as corporate education, or training for an adult learner. Whatever your research task is, I can be of assistance. I can help a student by teaching research skills, and how to assimilate the materials gathered. This is such an important skill in today's world. I would say that every position requires some type of research. With the advent of the internet, some of the research required can be done on-line which saves you time.
If you are interested in learning another language, such as French, let me know too.
I have taught French, Spanish, German to children. I love languages and believe that they can help in everyday skills. If you have a child who needs tutoring in various subjects, I can help there as well. Sometimes, one on one tutoring can really help a child succeed.
I have worked with students as young as four years old, and for older students, and adults as well. I have a Master's in Education, and certification as a corporate trainer, so I can assist you in either a corporate environment or one on one coaching. I hope to hear from you soon!
Products/Services
PERO INC. offers many services to you as an individual or as a business entity, large or small. As a publisher, published writer/author/poet, I can craft the words that will make your reader pay attention to what you have to say. If you are looking to have a manuscript edited, I can help you polish off your drafts so that a publisher will be interested in purchasing your manuscript. I am available to write free-lance pieces for you or your publication. I have written for many metro Detroit newspapers over the last 16 years. In July of 2005, I had my work attain international status. An article that I wrote and that was initially published in the Detroit Free Press was republished online through Military.com. I am excited about this new opportunity. As you know, the Detroit Free Press has published many articles of mine since 2004. On July 16, 2006 a story of mine will appear in the Free Press along with photos that I took to illustrate that story about VVA 528's weekly car cruise. It's an annual fundraiser for the veteran's chapter. Also, on July 16, 2006, Kurt Kuban wrote a wonderful story about my newly released book, "Woman Reclining". I've written for the trade publication The News, a HVACR magazine, and can write about refrigeration items, or radiant panel installation.
As an editor, I have critiqued many manuscripts to help the writer become a published author.
As stated earlier I am trained as a corporate trainer to assist adult learners learn. If you need me to conduct a training session on communication procedures, or anything similiar, please feel free to call or e-mail me.
As a photographer, I've worked mainly in the news business shooting photos within a second or two. I like to photograph a person when they are comfortable, and at ease. I love shooting outdoor photos, especially those of individuals who don't enjoy having a picture taken. The pictures will turn out better because the lighting is natural, and the person feels more comfortable.
If your child is interested in learning some words in French, German or Spanish, I'd love to help. My research has shown that students who learn a second language do much better in English, and with writing topics as well. Of course, I can help anyone learn to write better, and if you know a student who is learning English as a second language, I'd be happy to talk to that person as well.
Finally, if you need a poem written to commemorate a special occasion, I can be of assistance too. I love to write poetry, and have had many poems published. My "Feathers in Flight" compilation of Haiku is now availabe for $8.50. I have award winning Haiku included in it, as well as some old favorites, and some brand new poems. This collection contains more than 50 Haiku. I would be happy to mail one to you, or meet you in person to receive a copy. In addition my Workbook for Children is available for $9.00. I had a wonderful time signing both Haiku Chapooks on February 11th 2006 at the Book Cellar and Cafe in downtown Plymouth. Some of my Haiku is there to purchase as well!
Another new feature of my business is my newly formed poetry/literary arts group which will meet regularly. The first group meeting is Sunday July 23rd 2006 at6 2pm at the Book Cellar and Cafe in downtown Plymouth Michigan. Please stop by and read some of your work and that of any other poet or writer. Subject matter must be tasteful as this is a fun and relaxing event for those in attendance. See you there! Any questions, please let me know. Cheryl A. Martin,M.A.

In March my Haiku "Glistening Sands" won an honorable mention through a contest sponsored by Byline Magazine.
In 2001 I was selected through ArtServe Michigan as a Creative Writer for Michigan's Public School's as well as other creative writing classes. I have won monetary awards for my writing.
I also am the state representative for Byline Magazine out of Oklahoma. It's a great writing magazine for new and established writers.
