Our Trip to Alaska

June 18, 2001

We left College Fjord about 6:00 P.M. on a relatively short cruise to Seward. We arrived at Seward about 2:30 A.M. Our friends were up and got video of it. We, however, remained blissfully asleep until 5:00. Departing the ship we made for the Alaska Railroad next to the pier for a trip to Anchorage. This in many ways was the highlight of the trip. The snowy vista were great, we got a glimps of several large animals and the conductor and staff were great. I highly recommend this portion of the trip, not that the cruise was bad. It wasn't. But a large cruise ship is not the way to go for upclose views of wildlife.

This was a wonderful trip and I would go back again. My wife also had a wonderful time (she does not, however, enjoy the chill so she is not in a hurry to return.)
