North to Alaska

June 8 - 19, 2001

This was a wonderful trip. I have always wanted to see Alaska and while there is much I didn't get to see, I did manage to see a whole lot. We sailed on the Sun Princess - a great way to go!

Well, we started this trip by flying to Seattle, Washington for a couple days and then motored up to Vancouver for a 7-day cruise up the Inside Passage to Seward, Alaska a train connection to Anchorage, ending with a flight back to Seattle, then home. Here is a day by day listing of our stops and activities and ports along with photos.


Day Port/Activity
1 Flew from Sarasota to Seattle, rented van, drove to Mt. St. Helens area.
2 Spent the day around Mt. St. Helens. Drove to Seattle for the night.
3 Spent the day in Seattle.
4 Motored to Vancouver. Boarded Sun Princess. Left port.
5 Sailed Inside Passage
6 Ketchikan, AK. Flew in to Misty Fjord.
7 Juneau, AK.
8 Skagway, AK. Rented car and drove in to Yukon, Canada.
9 Cruised in Glacier Bay
10 Cruised the Gulf of Alaska, cruised in College Fjord.
11 Rode the train from Seward to Anchorage; flew to Seattle.
