For 1973 the Maverick was improved yet again. The brake lining area was increased by 35%, the 170 cid I6 was dropped and the 200 cid I6 was made standard, and the LDO grill was made standard. Additions to the option list where a AM/FM stereo, the "halo" vinyl roof for two doors, and forged aluminum wheels. Also added was the federal front bumper.



Comet under went the same changes as Maverick, along with adding LDO trim at extra cost.
