Edith A. Pepin was born in Fort Edward, New York where she lived with her family until they moved in 1888 to Connecticut, to settle on a little farm in Jewett City located in the town of Griswold.Edith Pepin married Maxime Noe Sarazin on January 2, 1900 at St. Mary's Church in Jewett City which is a section of the town of Griswold, Connecticut. Her marriage record has her first name as Exilda and not Edith. Here is her newspaper obituary from The Evening Chronicle, North Attleboro, Friday, January 29, 1954 Edith Sarazin Died YesterdayMrs. Edith (Pepin) Sarazin, wife of the late Maxim Sarazin passed away yesterday in Boston. Mrs. Sarazin, who was born in Fort Edward, N.Y. lived at 90 Spruce St. in this town, and had been a resident here for over 50 years. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Alfred Lacasse, Mrs. Roland Fregault, and Mrs. Francis Murphy; three sons, Dorily, Camille, and Roger, and twenty-two grand children. Two brothers, Maxim and Phillip Pepin of Jewett City, Conn. also survive. Mrs. Sarazin was one of the founders and first members of the St. Anne's Sodality of Sacred Heart Church. Funeral will be held from the Hector J. DeBlois Funeral Home, 107 Church St, on Monday, February 1 at a time to be announced later. |

Edith Sarazin's Funeral HeldFuneral Services for Edith Sarazin, who died on Thursday, were held this morning at 8:15 from the Hector J. DeBlois Funeral Home followed by a solemn high Mass of requiem at Sacred Heart Church at 9 o'clock. Rev. Roland A. Fregault, O.F.M. of Fairlawn, N. J., was celebrant, Rev. Joseph Larue, pastor, was deacon, and Rev. Edmund Dickinson was sub-deacon. Honorary bearers representing St. Anne Sodality were Mrs. John Trembley, Mrs. Armond Pellier, Mrs. Alfred Buril, and Mrs. Edelard Chabot. Bearers were Leo, Romeo, and Theophile Pepin, Leo and Emile Sarazin and Edward Lacasse. Burial was in the family lot at St. Mary's cemetery where Rev. Roland A. Fregault and Rev. Edmund Dickinson read the commital. |
