I have been a PC Hardware enthusiast since 1990. I have always built and upgraded my own
desktop PC's. During the 1990's I always traveled to the PC Computer Shows to buy parts.
These days I just buy everything online from places like
newegg.com.
I have also had a home network in some form another since 1992. My first network was running
Novell Netware on a 386 machine with coaxial cable connecting a couple of workstations. Since
1996 I have had my house wired with twisted-pair ethernet. Today my house is wired with
100-Megabit Cat-5 wire connecting 8 PC's both together and to the internet via a cable modem,
router, 8-port hub, and a wireless-G access point for our notebook computers.
