Annette's Stem Cell Transplant Timeline and Blog

I will post daily updates on the calendar here starting in February, so you can follow Annette's battle (with some major help, and cells, from her big brother Tom) with AML. If you want to share some public words of encouragement please go to Annette's new guest book page (many thanks to Holly for writing and hosting it for us). You can send private notes to me or Annette. Just keep in mind that I read my mail often (and rarely respond) and Annette rarely reads her mail (but usually responds).

Some rules to live by with the immunocompromised:

All of Annette's visitors must wash their hands before they enter the room.
Parties are limited to three visitors.
Coats are to be left in the visitor's lounge.
If you suspect that you are ill, wear a mask.
No kissing (c'ept for me of course. I'm a "care giver" not a visitor)
No cut flowers or potted plants please. They are not allowed in the room.
Please call before visiting. Annette can expect to have bad days when she won't want to see anybody (including me, but she's stuck with me)
Please check in with the nursing station. They will remind you of all these rules.

Annette with hair

We will have a visitation for Annette at First Lutheran Church from 5 to 7:00 on Friday March 28. Her funeral service will also be at First Lutheran at 1:00 on Saturday. If you are coming from out of town please call. We have many friends anxious to open their homes for friends of Annette's to stay.
