I really hate what has happened to this country over
the past several years. We are trillions in debt, have thousands of young men
and women dying for no good reason in Iraq, have major internal crises such
as healthcare and emergency response, and are looked at by the rest of the
world as a no-good bully who will do whatever he wants, regardless of what
others do and say. We pushed so hard to invade Iraq on false pretenses; yet
we can’t hardly help our poor folks in New Orleans after a major disaster. We
give tax cuts to the wealthy to ‘promote growth’, yet millions of Americans
are without health care. The Halliburtons and Wal-Marts of the world are
trying to take over, and there’s nothing or no one there to stop them. Big
business is going basically unchecked these days, similar to the days of
Upton Sinclair’s ‘The Jungle’. I feel lucky to be somewhat isolated from the worst
of it. After all, as my cousin Paul says…” I don’t live in the United States.
I live in San Francisco”. |
