Will
Feral
Special Needs: Feral in taming
Approx. 2 years, 4 months Will Feral was initially trapped and neutered in August of 2006. He was then placed back into the colony. I had been trying to re-trap him since November of 2006 when animal control was called to eradicate my colony. We finally got him on May 28, 2007. He is Caitlin's brother from the same litter. Will is currently in taming and won't be available for adoption for a while, if at all. He is coming around slowly. When we first brought him home he was very defensive and was constantly hissing, swatting and threatening us. He is calming down and has begun to eat from my hands and he will play with me sometimes. He's very relaxed in this environment and gets along well with all of the other cats. He could do without the dogs. I still cannot touch or approach Will, but I can quietly sit close to him and put my hand out and he will lay close to me. He still runs and hisses when I initially walk into the room, but he settles down quickly. 12/8/07: Will
will be a permanent member of our home. He has come a long
way.
He will happily eat from my hands and even puts his paws up
on my
leg to get a treat, but he still cannot be touched and will still run
and hiss sometimes if we move to quickly around him. He will swat if we
try to pet him too many times. He loves playing with feather
toys
and he seems to know that we are the ones moving it around because
every once in a while he will reach out and touch our hand at the other
end.
He seems quite happy here. He gets along with other cats and loves to sit and look out the window, but never tries to escape the house. We are happy to have Will become a new permanent resident here. Even though we can't pet him, we still adore him. Will has had his 3
year rabies, 2
year distemper, and 1 year leukemia vaccinations. He is
FeLV/FIV
negative and has been dewormed and treated for fleas.
