Welcome to
the second Pure Excitement Comics CD-ROM!
This CD-ROM features 15 great
stories which have never previously appeared in the pages of Pure Excitement Comics,
as well as a rescanned version of the Fighting Yank story which was featured on the web site and
another bonus tale featuring the Fighting Yank's Ancestor.
The 17 tales were published over a period of approximately six years, December 1942 to January 1949.
They feature a number of different artistic styles and illustrate the evolution of the character
throughout the Golden Age.
The following is a short
biography of the Fighting Yank which first appeared in issue 10 of Pure
Excitement Comics:

The Fighting Yank is probably
the second-most popular character (after the Black Terror) from the Nedor/Standard line of comics.
The Fighting Yank was Bruce Carter III.
He possessed a special cloak which once belonged to his Colonial ancestor, Bruce Carter I.
The cloak gave him superhuman strength and invulnerability. However, if things got too
bleak for our hero, the spirit of his ancestor would always appear to pull him out of
danger's way.
The Fighting Yank utilized
his powers to combat a variety of foes, from common criminals to supervillains to enemy
agents. He was assisted in his efforts by his girlfriend, Joan.
The Fighting Yank appeared in Startling
Comics 10-49, America's Best Comics 9, 11, and 13-25, and The Fighting Yank 1-29.
