Character(s): Zippo
Publication: Clue Comics No. 6
Publication Date: December 1943
Publisher: Hillman Periodicals, Inc.
As you will soon see,
Zippo was a very different sort of hero. He didn't have super powers with
which to fight crime. No, he had a bizarre set of motorized wheels strapped
to his feet, allowing him to zoom through his many adventures! The wheels,
which came complete with sharp treads capable of cutting through metal when
needed, were attached to pistons which ran up Zippo's legs to a special motor
unit encircling his waist.
When not in costume,
Zippo was private investigator Joe Blair. His profession often led to his
involvement in situations requiring Zippo's specialized skills.
Zippo appeared in
Clue Comics 1-8.
