Dr. Hugo Strange received his fantastic powers by taking "Alosun -- secret distillate of liquid sun atoms." The Alosun gave him an incredible array of powers, including super strength, flight or flight-like leaping ability, and invulnerability.

Dr. Strange was joined on many of his adventures by his girlfriend Virginia and a boy sidekick named Mike.

Dr. Strange appeared in Thrilling Comics 1-64 and America's Best Comics 1-23 & 27. Mike first appeared in Thrilling Comics no. 24.
