University Professor
Nelson Drew discovered a formula known as Lamesis which the Ancient Egyptians
had used to gain self-chosen ideal physical characteristics. "I know what
I'd want to be if I had the chance," said Dr. Drew after translating the manuscript
containing the secret formula, "somebody big and strong and handsome! It's silly,
but it can't do any harm to see what this stuff is!" Of course, the formula worked
and the professor was transformed from his timid, bookish self into the mighty
Liberator.
From Exciting Comics #34:
"Lamesis -- an ancient Egyptian potion -- is the means of turning Professor Nelson
Drew into the rampaging, devastating destroyer of spies and sabateurs -- the
Liberator! The Liberator who never relaxes in his fight agains the Axis murderers
who would tear down the democracy of our country and enslave its people to the bloody
chariot of Hitler and Hirohito!"
The Liberator appeared
Exciting Comics 15-30 & 34-35, as well as America's Best Comics 1, 3-5 & 8.
