Sunday, October 19, 2008:  AGO has designated 2008~2009 as the International Year of the Organ and is partnering with organizations worldwide to celebrate the King of Instruments.  The celebration commenced with the AGO National Convention in Minneapolis/St.Paul this past June and will conclude with the AGO Regional Conventions in the summer of 2009.  More than two hundred Organ Spectacular concerts are planned for Sunday, October 19th ; with our Chapter being one of them.  A diverse program featuring chapter members, guest organists, and the choir of Summit Avenue Presbyterian Church, will be offered to the community.  Chapter members Peggy Maurer and Paul Roy have volunteered to play the AGO Composer Competition winners, “Toccata Duo” and “Ornament of Grace” and member Cynthia Holland will be the violinist for one of the pieces.  A guest violinst from the Summit Avenue Presbyterian Church has agreed to also play.  Summit Avenue Presbyterian Church in Bremerton has agreed to host this concert and we will need members to help with light refreshments and clean up.
