AGO PROGRAMS

Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 10:00a.m.

AGO Educational Program at St. Charles Anglican Church, Poulsbo.

Education Chairperson Nancy Lyman and Sub-Dean Cynthia Holland will talk about preparing for the Service Playing AGO Certificate and have materials on display. Also Carl Kishline, who has recently received his Colleague Playing Certificate, will address our group and how he prepared and what the whole process was like.

Also to be discussed, will be organ registration. All members are asked to bring a plate of goodies or fruit to share. Coffee and juice will be provided.

(Friday) October 30, 2009 Halloween at the Masonic Lodge, Bremerton; This is NOT an AGO program, but AGO members have been invited to play Halloween theme organ pieces on the theater organ. A performance schedule will be organized by Cindy Holland for interested members. Cindy can be reached at (360) 698-8512 or cnrholland@tscnet.com.

(Saturday) November 7, 2009 from 10:00am to noon at St. Antony’s in Silverdale; Member Jan Parker-Peterson, organist at St. Antony’s, will host our meeting. Discussion will be on registration using St. Antony’s recently installed new Allen organ. Also #2 Skills/Technique from AGO’s Continuing Education materials will be available for members to look through.

No December meeting. Have a Blessed Christmas.

(Saturday) January 16, 2010 AGO Social Event and Organ Crawl in Seattle; The Board has proposed renting a van that will hold 15 with each person attending contributing $10 towards the rental fee. Traveling together will provide fellowship besides not having to drive, gas, pay toll, etc. and all arriving at the same time at First Baptist Church, Seattle for an organ crawl. We would then have lunch in Seattle and arrive back in the Bremerton area around 5:00p.m.

(Monday) February 1, 2010 at 7:30p.m. at Benaroya Hall in Seattle; As a Chapter, it is being considered we attend the Bach and Messiaen concert with Hans-Ola Ericsson, organist. Buying a block of tickets greatly decreases the price. This has not been decided, but just suggested to see how many might be interested. Carpooling would be advantageous as parking is around $10 a car. Weather could be a problem.

(Saturday) February 28, 2010 from 10:00 to noon at Summit Ave Presbyterian; Raleigh McVicker will lead the topic on Messiaen, the composer and performer.

No March meeting. Have a Blessed Easter.

(Sunday) Tentative Date: April 23, 2010 Halden Toy, 1st Runner Up from Regional VIII Convention, in concert. Considered locations are St. Barnabas and Summit Ave.
