This work party was a joint venture between volunteers from both
the NORTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION & the NORTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY MUSEUM. Workers showed up from Seattle to
Spokane, and everywhere in between, to put in many man hours into the following tasks:
- The "Scott Brodie collection" was inventoried: builders plates, china and dining car silver as well as numerous artifacts
- Approx. ± 250' of steel fence was welded and painted with primer coat
- Our Drop Bottom Gondola car was completely numbered and lettered
- 2" x 10" planking applied to NP #1364's tender deck before tank goes on
- Square tubing was recovered from left over end pieces of fence
- A lot of cutting, grinding and sanding was done on NP coach #588
- A lot of finish welding was done to complete the 250' steel fence
- New 30" x 40" posters were acquired and hung in the depot
- The gift shop was completely cleaned and re-stocked for 2007 season
- Work was on done on the donated shorty signal to make it operate
- General clean up was done both upstairs and downstairs in the depot
Work was followed by a great catered dinner that was enjoyed by all workers
