Philly EastEnders

The Original Walford

The original scriptwriters of EastEnders found their inspiration in the real London borough of Fassett Square, Hackney, E8.

For more information and photos of Fassett Square, go to:  Fassett Square, The Original Inspiration for EastEnders .

And what about the tube station?  Well, the Walford Tube Station doesn't appear on any actual map of the London Underground.  The station itself was created on the EastEnders set.  However, those who look very closely have determined that Walford East is located geographically in place of the real Bromley-by-Bow -- between Bow Road and West Ham. Go to Walford Tube Station for more information about Walford East.
