Ranger is co-owned with Linda Fitzmaurice of Javahill Kennels of
He made his conformation debut at the Houston World Series of Dog Shows in July of 2006 where he picked up his first two points at just a hair over six months old. In May of 2007, at only 15 months of age, Ranger, ably handled by Robert Churchey, picked up a Sporting Group 4 at the Rio Grande Kennel Club Shows in Albuquerque, NM. In June of '07 he went Best of Winners both days at the Colorado Springs Kennel Club shows, to earn his two majors. He finished his title Nov 3, 2007 at the NM Sporting Dog Fanciers show in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. After finishing, Ranger has been shown in only a couple of shows concentrating on hunting and a little obedince training. Really, living out here, Ranger has been a relatively unknown entitiy. In May of 2009, Ranger stepped up his game. He started off slowly, completing the requirements for his AKC Rally Novice title in Albuquerque, then two weeks later, he teamed up with Jr. Handler Mercedes Messer and took back to back group placements (G3 and G4) at the Mission Circuit dog shows in Pomona, California. A month after that, on June 28th, Ranger took Best in Show at the Mount Bachelor Kennel Club show in Redmond, Oregon, again, with Mercedes Messer on the other end of his leash. For now, Ranger is busy trying to be a good show dog, and a good hunting companion. He's pretty good at locating and retrieving cripples and has really started to come into his own as a hunting dog this year. He is hunted over doves and quail, but where he really excells is on waterfowl. He really takes his job in the field seriously, but he seems to enjoy wet work over quartering the desert looking for coveys. Ranger is starting his general training using Sue Ailsby's Training Levels program. Sporting Group 4 Rio Grande Kennel Club , May 2007

Sue is my favorite little outlaw. She's bold and brash and full of herself. On November 6th, 2005 Sue took a group 1 for Bred-By Exhibitor dogs at the Sporting Dog Fanciers of New Mexico show in Rio Rancho. She finished her championship by going BOB and taking her third major at the Hobbs Kennel Club show on February 4th, 2006. Sue now has earned the "Rusty Jones" after completing her CD in May of 2007 at the Rio Grande Kennel Club Show in Albuquerque, where she also picked up her Rally Advanced Title. She has also taken 3 group placements, two 2nds and a 4th, in limited outings in Mexico. This little girl is not just a beauty queen, she can also do the job for which she was bred. She passed the NSDTRC(US) WC test at the national specialty held in Oregon. She can run all day and regularly outswims her Golden and Lab buddies. Sue absolutely LOVES hunting. She is quite the demanding hunting partner and expects each shot to bring down a bird for her to fetch. She is quite vocal about her displeasure when the birds don't fall. Now retired from the conformation ring, Sue is just starting to work on Agility, and is continuing her work in Obedience and Rally. Her rock-solid temperament allows her to help me work with agressive dogs in good manners classes. In her spare time she carries on conversations with me, fetches the paper, is an avid bird hunter, and does a card trick.

Ceilidh is my first little Canadian wonder dog. In June of 2000 I drove to Canada and picked her up at Rideau Kennels in Perth, Ontario. Contrary to her name, Ceilidh is a very intense and serious dog. She is completely focused on retrieving to the point that I often say she has obsessive/compulsive retrieving disorder. This little girl will fetch all day long if I let her. Nothing in her life even comes close to being as important as retrieving. In spite of this she is quite a versatile little girl and will do anything I ask her as long as she knows fetching will follow. She has finished her AKC Championship, has earned her AKC CD title as well as both her AKC Novice Agility titles, her Rally Advanced title and her CGC. Ceilidh is now retired and spends her time hiking, fetching her ball, and keeping the youngsters in line. She is an obsessive retrieving machine. She loves to play Frisbee and will fetch tennis balls, sticks, toys, you name it, until your arm falls off. We also go for lots of hikes in the mountains and drive to area lakes or the Gila River for swims I am now participating in dog activities that I haven't done in years, thanks to this wonderful little dog. Tollers are very smart and need lots of activity if they are not to become problem pets. |
