My beautiful daughter Melissa (Missy) was taken from us when she was only 17 years of age.

So needlessly did her life end. While coming home from a party at one of her friends house, the driver of the car she was in decided to show off and pass the cars in front of him.

The driver had a blood alcohol level greater than three times the legal limit for which one is considered under the influence.

He crashed into two trees, was ejected, while my precious little girl was trapped in the burning wreckage.

He has no idea what carnage he has caused. He will never know what he has done to me and my family. He's just plain too stupid and ignorant.

Only when the laws are changed will drunk drivers be free from our streets.

I'm afraid that won't happen until the right politician loses their son or daughter in a needless act of stupidity.

And I wouldn't want my worst enemy to suffer the gut wrenching, horrific, tormenting pain a parent feels from losing a child.
