Cabooses

Western Maryland railway cabooses are located in the City park in Westernport, Maryland, at Dennis Fisher's house in Midlothian, Maryland (near Frostburg), and at the C&P depot at Frostburg. There are at least three cabooses in Cumberland, one owned by the Scenic Railroad, one by the NRHS chapter, and one in the City Park. Others can be found in the area.

The caboose in Constitution Park in Cumberland was donated by Chessie System to the City.

In the Mt. Savage City Park, a red wooden B&O caboose stood for many years, but is now gone.

The WMSR caboose 10 is ex-C&O 3178. It was repainted into WM colors, and numbered 1906, in 1998. I rented this caboose for my birthday party, and rode around Helmstetters Curve and thru Brush tunnel on the back porch.

The Western Maryland Chapter, NRHS, has a 1948 caboose donated by CSXT. It came in Seaboard/SCL colors, but was repainted into its original Clinchfield scheme as CRR 1072.
