Biblio. & References

The main branch of the Allegany County Library is located in Cumberland, on Prospect Square, across from the County Court House, and a short walk from the Western Maryland Station. The library at Frostburg State University has excellent holding on area history, including early newspapers on microfilm. The Allegany Community College in Cumberland has a local history section.

Bookstores that stock works of local interest include the BookCenter on Liberty Street in Cumberland and Main Street Books in Frostburg. The Gift Shop in the Western Maryland Station Center also maintains an inventory of related books.
