Make Your Own Shadow Puppets!

Simple Seahorse Shadow Puppet

• Cardstock paper
• A printer
• A straw
• Tape
• Scissors

1. Print out one of the following pictures on cardstock or other heavy paper.

• Print this for one seahorse puppet
• Print this to make four seahorses at a time

2. Cut out your seahorse shape

3. Tape a straw vertically (up and down) to the back of your seahorse, leaving enough room to hold the straw at the bottom

4. Hold your puppet up to a shadow screen and move the straw to make your puppet move.

5. Now you know the basics of how to make a shadow puppet. Can you make one of your own?
