She worked as part of the WVU Puppetmobile for five years building and performing puppets for shows that were seen by children and families at schools, theaters and the Greenbrier resort hotel. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Puppetry and Children's Theater from West Virginia University.

Organizations across the Pittsburgh area have featured Carolyn's solo work with Pizzicato Puppets over the past several years.
