Waterwise Design & Landscapes is
a full-service landscape design, consulting, and installation company.
We specialize in creating unique and artistic xeriscapes suitable
for the high desert environment in the Salt Lake Valley and surrounding
areas. Our mission is to
demonstrate that you can have a beautiful, vibrant, and healthy
landscape requiring a small fraction of the water required by a
traditional landscape.

Water is our most precious resource. Utah is the 2nd driest state in the country and we have the highest per capita rate of water consumption. The average Utahn uses 250 gallons of water per day, 3.3 times the national average. 60% of our drinking water is used for landscapes. When you consider the cost of storage, delivery, and purification, this water is VERY expensive (we are currently subsidized on our water bills). If /when we deplete our current supply of high quality culinary water, it will be our tax dollars that will be needed to deliver more of this scarce resource. We believe that our landscapes should be consistent with our environment. |
A waterwise landscape is not
limited to gravel and cactus. We
design and build landscapes using a palette of plants, trees, and
hardscaping to achieve colorful, inviting, and functional landscapes
tailored to the desires of each customer.
We group plants together to create zones of consistent water
need, complementary colors, shapes, textures, and year-round interest.
