Our Cats Our cats are our not only our choice of pet, but a major part of our family. In fact, Nora thought I should put pictures of the cats in the 'family' section for that very reason, but I felt they needed a page all their own...........so heeerre they are!
Back in 1989, I met the person I would someday call my wife. As a gift to her, I got a kitten from a friend who's cat had a litter a couple of months prior. We both agreed she was the most adorable thing on the earth, and named her Misty. Misty lived a very happy and healthy 14+ years, but alas the years had grown hard on her, and she had to be laid to rest. We miss her terribly, but she's in a much better place now. Rest in peace, Misty.
After Misty's passing, we found we just couldn't go on in this house without a cat. Enter Carly. She was just 2 months old when we brought her home, and she immediately claimed our home as her own. As much a cuddler as a roughhouser, we all fell in love with her.
It seems that cats, like so many other things, are best enjoyed in pairs. After much searching, we found Skylar on the web at Dumpster Cats Rescue League. Originally named Chloe by her foster mother, Heather, we all agreed that Skylar would be our name for her. Extremely elegant and totally playful at the same time, she keeps Carly company and keeps us laughing with her playful antics. After a day or two of 'getting to know each other' (ahem!!), they came to be good friends.
