KCLD in St Cloud steals the credit for mashups taken off the internet.

** Update 2/4/07 ** This issue is now on the front-page of Mashuptown.com!! Check it out here:
"KCLD - Where is the Love" and vote in their poll!

** Update 2/3/07 ** Looks like KCLD must have heard something, because the wording on their webpage changed
slightly. It now says "Every Friday morning we play two songs together". So they changed "Beat-match" for
"play". I'm not sure that really acknowledges that the songs aren't theirs. And, they're still "laundering" the songs
by erasing the ID3 tags.

The Story...

About 14 months ago, I stumbled across MashupTown, and I
was totally blown away by what people were creating. I began making mashups right away.

After a few weeks, I got a lucky moment of inspiration and put together "Whoomp! There's the West End Girls" .
I emailed it over to Art @ Mashuptown and he put it up on the front page. I was thrilled!
MashupTown has continued to nurture a great community of mashup artists over the last year.

SO,

I was pretty unhappy to see that 104.7 KCLD in St Cloud took my mashup
(and MANY others) and put it on their website as their own. See Week #4 at the bottom.
They even claim this on the website! An excerpt from their page:

"Every Friday morning we beat-match two songs together that usually wouldn't go together."

These guys even went out of their way to ERASE the ID3 tags in the songs. The original ID3 Tags had
properly referenced the name I used "DJ ByteMastaB" as well as "MashupTown", who really deserves the credit
for creating a site where everyone can submit and listen to mashups.
