I was formerly the Subregional Editor for Alpine and Calaveras County. Subregional Editors send bird reports to the California Regional Editors four seasons a year. These editors then compile the data and send it to the American Birding Association. They publish a quarterly journal of ornithological records: "North American Birds". During my time I collected a lot of bird information for various areas and that information is posted here for your interest. I had to retire from this job in January 2004 so I have not been able to keep these lists current, new species have been added to many of the lists. The site pages are still reasonably accurate.

I also started the first Calaveras County Christmas Bird Count in 1990. The history and information from the days when I compiled this count can be found in the web sites listed to the left.
