First ones ever made by John Mayes matching hollow Telecaster and Stratocaster
What makes this guitar special? Hollow body (Mahogany) with a maple cap. Super smooth maple neck, Brazilian Board. Lollar Pick ups and a special Capacitor wired in with Vintage Bridge and Saddles make this a redefinition of the Classic Telecaster sound. It has twang, it has bright, it has dark and it has crunch and it is a pleasure to play. A top guitar by a top top builder.
This has a great quilt top and awesome matching of components and looks, I would've added abalone dots but was too late. Also when it says Hollowed out, it was a SOLID slab routed out except for a bar down the middle.
In a similar vein when John approached me with a special deal for another electric, I knew I wanted a matching Stratocaster to go with the Telecaster. So pretty much the same specs. Except this is a Hard Tail with a strat style bridge. Again Jason Lollar pick ups which I am really loving! Another minor difference is the finish on the neck which is not satin, but it is still a smooth and fast neck.
Maybe one day I'll be able to purchase one of his acoustic guitars, but his electrics rock!
