FUNDRAISING: All fundraising profits this year will go into the general band fund to help offset the cost for busses to see the Boston Pops in the spring. This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Faneuil Hall and hear world class music. More info on this trip after the first of the year!
Eric will be handing out the first fundraiser soon for Meadow Farms which features wrapping paper, gifts and food items.
October 4th-15th will be Yankee Candle. This is a Performing Arts Department wide fundraiser (band, chorus, dance) to benefit the Auditorium Renovation project. Profits will go towards one of the “extras” that might not otherwise be in the budget and will benefit all performing arts students.
We hope to offer Gift Baskets at the Holiday Concert in December for raffle.
Band will be sponsoring an upcoming BFA dance featuring live music (we hope!).
Candy Bars will be offered in the spring.
ALL STATE FESTIVAL: This is the BIG event of the year! BFA will be hosting the All State Festival May 4, 5, 6, and 7, 2011. We need your HELP! We are looking for someone who can give a commitment of time and energy to chair the Housing committee. This festival begins with a parade of marching bands from around the state on Wednesday, then continues with a scholarship concert, a jazz concert and culminates with a band concert Saturday afternoon featuring the best student musicians in the state. FALL CONCERT: Wednesday November 3 at 7PM. Students need to arrive at 6PM for set up. Dress code is black pants, white shirts and tie for boys, black skirt or pants, white top for girls. Please bring a baked good for the bake sale at intermission. All proceeds benefit the Pam Stewart Scholarship awarded to an outstanding graduating musician.
