Introduction
Since people are going to Starbucks and needlessly spending $4 on
the pumpkin spice latte, I thought I would provide my recipe
for making something similar. It's a work in progress.
The Recipe
VERBATIM
2 cups milk
3 tbsp mashed pumpkin from a can
3 tsp of either sugar or xylitol
6 shakes of McCormick's "pumpkin pie spices"
Optional: 1 shot of espresso
VERBATIM_
You can buy the "pumpkin pie spices" in any supermarket's spices section.
Procedure:
- Put milk into Pyrex glass.
- Add pumpkin and use fork or wisk to thoroughly mix it in.
- Add spices and sugar. If using xylitol instead of sugar then add it at the end.
- Optionally add espresso.
- Heat for 3 minutes.
- Optionally add xylitol.
Conclusion
This is a simple drink that is cheap to prepare.
If you are stuck indoors because of snow or whatever,
it's more pleasant than tea or hot chocolate.
You don't have to add the espresso.
