Class of 1952

John Hilger Wynkoop, Horace Holland

Jack Cheek, After graduating in 1952, I went to college at NMSU while working as a co-op at White Sands Proving Ground. The next year I went to NMIMT (at Socorro), followed by three years at UNM (Albuquerque) graduating in Engineering. I got married in 1957 to Pat Gloss of Albuquerque and we moved to San Diego, where our three children were born and where I worked on the Atlas ICBM program for General Dynamics. In 1962, we moved to Seattle where I worked on the Minuteman ICBM program for Boeing and where I went to graduate school at the University of Washington. In 1964, we moved to Huntsville, Alabama where we still live. From 1964 to 1994 I worked on the Saturn booster for the man-on-the-moon program, on the Lunar Roving Vehicle, on the Safeguard anti-ballistic missile, and on Space Shuttle payloads by Boeing and McDonnell Douglas. I retired in 1994 and now spend my time grandparenting our five grandchildren, attending continuing education classes, traveling, and doing lots of volunteer work.

Bennie M. Tafoya Hi, glad to hear from you and yes please send me more information about HSHS reunions. As you notice, I am a 1952 Grad., but of course I am interested in hearing from other alumni close to that period of time including early 60's. I'm: Bennie M. Tafoya, graduated from HSHS with the class of "52". Lived in T.or C. practically all my life except for short periods while in the service and attending college. 2 yrs. ago I retired from my 34 yrs on the job with the Navy Surveillance System just out from Engle but close to T. or C. where I lived all this time. Now I'm living here in Las Cruces, N. M. where I have decided to spend the rest of my retirement life. I bought a nice home here, and I am a widower and intend to stay single the rest of my life. I am doing well health wise and am happy. My e-mail: btafoya@zianet.com Please write to me and give me all the info you can about classmates. Thank you very much.
