Larry and Ginger (Bixby) Morgan --- Larry, born a ?Navy Brat? in San Diego, California, moved with his parents to T or C in 1952 and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1956. He began working part-time at KCHS in 1954 and then attended Grantham College of Broadcast Engineering in Los Angeles. He returned to work at KCHS in 1958 & 1959, followed by four years in the United States Air Force, serving in Topeka, Kansas, Alaska and Turkey. Upon discharge from the Air Force, he was employed for seven-years at KGReaT in Las Cruces, first serving as a ?disk-Jockey? and then as news director. This was followed by a 14-year stint as a professional staff member in the United States Congress, and 11 years as a Congressional and Public Affairs Officer with the U.S. Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C. Ginger was born in Willcox, Arizona ? but her Bixby family had close ties to Sierra County dating back to the early 1900s. When her parent?s separated, she came to T or C to live with her grandmother in 1952 and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1959. She and Larry were married in October of 1959. After their three children became teenagers, she attended Montgomery County Community College in Silver Spring, Maryland. Upon graduation in 1980 as a ?certified medical assistant?, she accepted a position with a father-son medical practice and subsequently became office manager. In July 1994, both Larry and Ginger retired from their respective positions in Maryland and moved to SE Oklahoma to the small, remote, crossroads community of Buffalo Valley. In May 2001, they came to Alamogordo for what had been planned as a brief visit with old friends. Suddenly, however, they decided to purchase a home and permanently return to the state. They returned to Oklahoma, put their house on Sardis Lake up for sale, and on August 23rd, moved into their new home just outside Alamogordo?s city limits. After 42-years of marriage, Larry and Ginger are the proud parents of three children, and grandparents to five girls ? who are currently spread out among the communities of Salisbury, North Carolina, San Antonio, Texas and Bellevue, Nebraska.
