First Presbyterian Church of Newark

Pastor Nominating Committee

First Meeting February 2007

We were elected by our congregation in January 2007, to discern
* the pastoral leadership God desires for First Presbyterian and
* the candidate best qualified to supply that leadership.

We are currently working towards that goal and following a process shown at the very bottom of this page. An extensive Mission Study has been completed (available through the members only section of our website), as well as a Church Information Form (CIF). Both were submitted through the New Castle Presbytery to the national office of PC(USA). We have begun receiving information on potential candidates for our next Called and Installed Pastor from various sources including Personal Information Forms (PIFs) from the PC(USA) database. As we move along the process path we will keep you informed and modify the process chart.

To the question “How soon will we have a pastor?” we can only reply “As soon as the Holy Spirit has led us to him or her.”

Praise the Lord!

We have found the candidate that we believe the Holy Spirit has lead us to.

The biographical information on the candidate will be available after the events on the weekend of November 15 -16. To see this information (in the members section of the FPC Newark site) click this link.
